Fractional integration impacts Beijing International Motor Show to force breakthrough

“All the storms have passed and we do not need to look back.” Zhang Xiaoyu, vice president of the China Machinery Industry Federation, one of the organizers of the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition, said at the press conference. He strongly expressed his determination to look ahead—“The Beijing Auto Show will be the first professional auto show in China, first in Asia, and in the world.”

At this meeting, Wan Jifei, chairman of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, announced that the 2004 Beijing International Automobile Exhibition will be held from June 9th to 16th.

But behind these ambitions can not hide their existing problems. Industry insiders believe that the splitting of the Beijing auto show for up to six months has caused domestic and foreign exhibitors to hesitate to influence the progress of investment promotion.

Currently less than half a year away from the auto show, many large domestic and foreign exhibitors are still watching.

Internal disputes affect investment progress

Chen Ruowei, vice president of China International Exhibition Center Group Co., Ltd., one of the contractors, said that “partial integration will definitely have an impact on investment promotion. If it is a family from the beginning, it will not be so tight now.”

She admitted that disputes on division and merger may not affect the scale of the auto show this year, but it will certainly affect the progress of the organizers and the organizers. Moreover, the disagreement between the division and the merger also affected the international image of the Beijing International Auto Show. However, she declined to disclose the current progress of investment promotion.

When the reporter inquired about another contractor, Zhao Haiming, general manager of China Eastern International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd., “Decided on December 24th, this Christmas Eve before Christmas, to announce this point and then reconstruct it. Is it because of consideration? When giving foreigners a psychological comfort, Zhao Haiming is not ok and he says that "partial integration will not have too much impact on investment promotion."

Exhibitors take the opportunity to lower prices

Previously, it was reported that the Beijing auto show was divided into two. In the process of investment promotion, the vicious competition, "battle with each other, and fishermen benefit," gave some exhibitors at home and abroad the opportunity to significantly lower prices. It is reported that the booths of the previous Beijing International Auto Show have been in short supply, and there is no problem of lowering the booth fee. However, this "fighting bucket" has made many manufacturers cheap. According to media reports, a U.S. automobile giant first visited the International Exhibition Center to discuss prices, and then went to the Jingkai International Automobile Exhibition Center in Yizhuang to discuss reducing the participation fees.

It is contrary to convention that after the press conference was over, there was no time for the reporters to ask questions. When the reporters were organized around the organizers and the organizers, they did not have questions about the "reason of the merger," or whether the merger was real. It means "cooperation", "how the benefits will be allocated after the merger," and the investment situation.

Traffic problems cannot be eradicated

It is understood that restrictions on exhibition venues and traffic congestion are important reasons for the separation of auto shows. Zhao Haiming told reporters that there were some solutions for the exhibition venues. “In order to solve the problem of inadequate space, the auto show will open a second conference venue at the agricultural exhibition hall less than 3,000 meters away from the China International Exhibition Center and add 40,000 square meters of venues, mainly for exhibitions. Commercial vehicles and auto parts.” 2004 is a transitional year, the new exhibition hall countries have been established, and is expected to be completed and put into use in 2006, when the Beijing International Auto Show insufficient venues will also be solved.

Chen Ruowei said that the lack of space for the National Exhibition Center is a fact, but it is still the professional exhibition venue with the best conditions, the largest area and the most complete supporting facilities in Beijing. There are dozens of international exhibitions held every year here. And since 2000, the National Exhibition has invested 150 million yuan in the improvement and improvement of facilities.

However, the traffic problem still exists. Although Wan Jifei emphasized at the press conference: “The exhibition will open up a free exhibition of the National Exhibition—Agricultural Exhibition, shuttle the audience back and forth, and work closely with the traffic management department of Beijing to implement effective traffic management and Grading measures and increasing parking spaces at the same time provide facilities for exhibitors and visitors.” However, these are only expedient measures and cannot solve the old problem. Difficulties in driving and parking are the shadows that cannot be wiped out by exhibitors and visitors.
