The S65-Z rear reflection sensor hits a beam of light onto a reflection band. The reflection of light enables the sensor to determine the position, size and integrity of the moving object on the belt, as well as to detect differences or defects of 1 mm in the range of 150 mm.

The DS1 detection grating consists of a multi-beam grating emitter and a corresponding grating receiver.
