The automotive industry faces three major issues of environmental protection, energy and safety

Zhang Xiaoyu, vice president of the China Federation of Machinery Industry, said in an interview with reporters that the automotive industry is facing environmental protection, energy consumption and safety issues. These three major problems are the pressures faced by the automotive industry in the past and in the future.
At present, environmental protection and energy conservation are issues that China must face in order to become a world leader in automobile production and even in power. The average fuel consumption of Chinese automobiles is 50% higher than in developed countries. Zhang Xiaoji believes that the fundamental solution to the problem of environmental protection and energy conservation in automobiles is the electronicization of automotive products, “informatization driving industrialization” and “industrialization promoting informationization”, which is most evident in the automotive industry.
Zhang Xiaolu analyzed that evaluating a high-tech product now depends on the number of computer control units this product has. At present, a mid to high-end car generally has 40 to 50 microprocessors. Engines, brake systems, safety systems, and automotive air-conditioning and anti-theft are all controlled by computers. The adoption of various new and high technologies has reduced the total amount of vehicle emissions by about 60% over the past decade since the 1990s. The energy consumption of automobiles has been reduced by half, and the safety of automobiles has also been increased by half.
Zhang Xiaoxuan revealed that many environmental issues that urgently need to be resolved will be discussed at the first China Automotive Environmental Protection Expo held in Hainan early next year. He believes that Hainan Province is currently the best province in terms of ecological environment, and it is also an economic development province. An automotive exhibition with the theme of environmental protection is held in Hainan and has its own special significance. (Zhang Xiaoyu)
