Boster has added an inclinometer to its popular inclinometer family to support the Modbus RTU communication protocol. ModbusRTU's protocol is published, royalty-free, and has become the industry standard. Realize simple, reliable and cost-effective data acquisition and communication with standard PLC systems. The Modbus RTU node can be connected via serial RS-485, which enables up to 32 devices to be connected to the bus.
Boost TILTIX Inclinometer Now Supports Modbus RTU Communication
The new Modbus RTU model is based on MEMS technology (micro-electromechanical systems) like other inclinometers, enabling 0-360° single-axis measurement or ±80° dual-axis measurement. Measurement accuracy can be within ±0.1°. Durable PBT plastic housing can meet the needs of most applications. With heavy-duty cast aluminum housing can withstand extreme working environment. The measured resolution, zero setting, and counting direction can be set via the application configuration interface (API) in the device firmware. This makes it possible to precondition the output signal of the adjusted position data so that the signal can be directly used by the PLC without additional conversion and scaling of the signal. We can also add a built-in termination resistor through the API to meet the cabling needs. The TILTIX inclinometer with Modbus RTU interface is the ideal solution for solar tracking systems that can perform the angular detection of the spatial orientation of multiple solar reflectors or collectors. Also, it is often used on material handling equipment, or many other applications that require practical, low-cost, high-precision angle detection solutions.
