The VIAB-initiated retarder is one of Voith's most outstanding products. It integrates hydraulic coupling and retarding functions in one hydraulic circuit. Currently used in Daimler-Benz trucks, it is suitable for vehicles of over 250 tons. VIAB establishes industry standards to ensure no-wear start and slow speed. Especially in the case of particularly heavy loads and harsh terrain, it provides highly flexible maneuvering and vehicle starting. Compared with traditional torque converter clutches, the system is compact in structure, light in weight and high in efficiency. It will not overheat even under the strongest working load, on uneven roads or when the vehicle is fully loaded on extreme slopes. The development of this cutting-edge technology system has placed efficiency, sustainability and fuel economy at the top of the list since its inception. For this reason, Voith's worldwide service network also offers accessories and replacement assemblies that were rebuilt by Voith. With replacement assemblies, operators can get a retarder that is the same as the new technology. At the exhibition site, Voith demonstrated a special 115HV retarder overhaul, which can be provided as a replacement to the user, reducing the replacement cost of the user's damaged product.

Hao Xu told reporters that unlike other manufacturers' point power output, the power output of Voith retarder products is uninterrupted, so as to ensure that customers' power needs can be met at any time and users' safety can be guaranteed. At the same time, Voith has a very advanced product advantage in terms of product processing precision and hardware reaction speed. At present, Voith's matching work with various manufacturers is in progress. Hao Xu said that matching the retarder with the entire vehicle is a detailed task.
