According to the statistics of the complete vehicle certification of motor vehicles, in November 2015, the output of domestic pure electric passenger cars was 31,019, and the output of pure electric buses was 21,804.
As the source of power for electric vehicles, power batteries are diversified. Lead acid, nickel-metal hydride, lithium iron phosphate, lithium manganate, lithium titanate, ternary materials, and multi-component composite materials coexist. This article synthesizes the overall production situation of pure electric passenger cars and pure electric buses in November, analyzes the installed capacity of ternary material power batteries, and related enterprise information.
The ternary power battery has become the mainstream of pure electric passenger vehicles, with more than 76% installed capacity.
In terms of pure electric passenger cars, Geely ranked first in November, with a production output of 12,977, Zhongtai 5574, Lifan 2788, Chery 2293, Beiqi 2042, Jianghuai 1697, Jiangling 1005, BYD 941 vehicles.
Among the 31,019 pure electric passenger cars produced in November, the main types of power batteries include ternary materials, lithium iron phosphate, lithium manganate, and lead-acid batteries. Among them, the installed capacity of ternary materials is 23,656, accounting for 72.26% of the main power battery installed in the month; followed by lithium iron phosphate battery, the installed capacity is 6,230, accounting for 20.08%; lead-acid battery The installed capacity is 908 vehicles, accounting for 2.93%. As can be seen from Figure 1, the ternary power battery has become the main source of power for pure electric passenger cars, and the market share of lithium iron phosphate battery has been compressed. Although lead-acid batteries have been criticized, there is still a certain market. The market share of lithium manganate batteries is extremely small. Although the industry is more optimistic about the prospects of lithium manganate power batteries, it is difficult to bring surprises in the short term.
In November, among the top five suppliers of ternary power batteries for pure electric passenger cars, Boston Battery (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd. installed the number of 7,762 vehicles, ranking first. Its main supporting car factory is Zhejiang Geely Automobile, which is the two pure electric passenger car brands produced by the latter - Geely and Zhidou. The installed capacity of Geely is 3,915, and the installed capacity of Zhidou is 3,804. .
Tianjin Lishen installed capacity of 6,360 vehicles, ranking second. The main supporting vehicles are Geely Automobile, Jianghuai Automobile and Rongcheng Huatai. The fifth place is Wanxiang Yeneng Power Battery Co., Ltd., which is mainly used for Chery Automobile, with a installed capacity of 1,387. Chery Automobile produced a total of 2,293 electric vehicles in the month, of which 906 were lead-acid batteries. The main lead-acid battery suppliers were Tianneng, Chaowei and Shandong Shengyang Power.

As can be seen from Table 1, Zotye has cooperated with a number of power battery manufacturers. "Gai Shi·New Energy" believes that this move means that Zotye is more cautious about the choice of ternary power batteries and suppliers. In the same month, Zhongtai produced only 149 ternary material power batteries in electric vehicles, and A number of power battery manufacturers have cooperated, which shows that Zotye is likely to carry out small-scale loading tests on the ternary power battery. An obvious fact is that Zotye has several electric models that can be said to be explosions. It is the backbone of the current domestic electric vehicles, and the company recently launched a new mini-car. "Gaishi Automobile·New Energy" believes that once the ternary batteries of the above-mentioned several power battery manufacturers are recognized by Zotye, they will soon welcome the big orders of Zotye.
Electric bus: The ternary power battery is less than lithium iron phosphate, and the latter is more reliable. In November 2015, the total output of domestic pure electric buses was 21,804, Zhengzhou Yutong ranked first with 2,736 units; Nanjing Jinlong ranked second. The output was 2,192 vehicles; the third was Dongfeng Motor Corporation with a production capacity of 1974 vehicles.
In the pure electric bus produced in the month, the number of lithium iron phosphate power batteries was 14,143, accounting for 64.9% of the total, ranking first; the installed capacity of ternary material power batteries was 6022, accounting for 27.6% of the total; The installed capacity of multi-component composite power batteries was 992 units, accounting for 4.55%; the installed capacity of lithium manganate power batteries was 444 units, accounting for 2.04%; the installed capacity of lithium titanate power batteries was 203 units, accounting for 0.93%.

As can be seen from Figure 2, the lithium iron phosphate power battery is the mainstream of the pure electric bus, and the ternary material power battery share ranks second.
At present, the industry has a big controversy about the application of ternary material power batteries on pure electric buses. From the perspective of safety, authoritative experts and major power battery manufacturers have recommended that electric bus manufacturers use such batteries with caution. They believe that the power battery of ternary materials is more suitable for promotion on passenger cars, and for a long period of time in the future. It is not suitable for large-scale promotion in the field of pure electric buses (urban buses).

On the whole, although the energy density of the ternary power battery is better than that of the lithium iron phosphate power battery, the current pure electric bus factory still relies on the lithium iron phosphate battery with more advantageous safety performance. In the future, the share of ternary material power batteries in pure electric buses can surpass lithium iron phosphate.
