iOS8, the next iteration of Apple's mobile operating system, may have side-by-side application support. Application developer Steve Troughton Smith said on Twitter on Monday that Apple's iOS 8 software development kit has built-in code that allows users to run and display multiple applications at the same time. According to the developer, the application can be displayed as "quarter size, half size, or three quarter size."
Side-by-side application support is a highly coveted feature. It is already operating on Google's Android mobile operating system and provides support for Android smartphones and tablets from Samsung and LG. The multi-screen application at the Apple Global Developers Conference last week made its debut and was widely expected.
