New engine for Homer Township

I just got this message from Bill Friedrich: --- Hey everyone, This is something special I wanted to share with you. On September 11, 2012, there was a meaningful ceremony held by the Homer Township Fire Protection District. It marked the official placement of their brand-new Engine 32 into service. The event took place at 2:40 PM, and as soon as Wescom Dispatch gave the signal over the speakers, the engine was officially brought online. Interestingly enough, Pete Lomardi from Fire Service Inc. facilitated the sale of this rig to the department. It’s always great to see how these partnerships help bring essential equipment to our first responders. I managed to capture some photos from the day. You can check out the new rig in action during the wet-down ceremony. That's where they spray it with water to celebrate its commissioning. There’s also an image of the engine being pushed into the firehouse, which is such a classic tradition. The vehicle itself is a 2012 E-ONE Typhoon model equipped with a powerful 1,500-gallon-per-minute (GPM) pump and carries 1,000 gallons of water. It’s a workhorse for sure! Take a look at the images below. These were all taken by me, Bill Friedrich. Let me know what you think! [Attached are three images: one showing the new engine, another from the wet-down ceremony, and a third capturing the moment when the engine was moved into the fire station.] --- Hope you enjoyed the update! Let me know if you have any questions or thoughts about the new addition to Homer Township's fleet. Best, Bill
