The Beiqi Yinxiang Automobile Project is located in the newly-built Beiqi Yinxiang New City Industrial Park in Tuchang Town, Hechuan. This is another cooperation between state-owned enterprises and private enterprises. Beijing Automobile Group is a large-scale state-owned enterprise in Beijing. It ranks fifth in China's auto industry and owns many well-known brands such as Beijing Benz, Beijing Hyundai, Beiqi Foton, and Beijing Automotive. Chongqing Yinxiang Group is a large-scale private enterprise integrating research, development, sales and manufacturing of motorcycles, engines and general-purpose gasoline engines. In October 2010, motorcycle exports ranked fifth in the country.
The Beiqi Yinxiang Automobile Project has a total investment of 2.5 billion yuan. The project is planned to be carried out in two phases. By the end of 2011, the first phase of the project will be completed to form a production capacity of approximately 300,000 vehicles; the second production line will be completed in 2012. In other words, Beiqi Yinxiang Auto can be officially put into operation at the end of 2011 and is expected to be put on the market in 2012, which will be available more than a year later.
It is understood that BAIC Yinxiang Motors' production base in Hechuan will mainly produce mini vehicles, jeep, SUV, MPV, and pickup trucks. The car logo still uses Beiqi's logo, mainly at the low and medium price points.
The Beiqi Yinxiang Automobile Project will not only produce automobiles, but also produce engines, automobile and motorcycle parts and other ancillary products. After full production, the output value will reach 25 billion yuan, equivalent to the total output value of Hechuan in 2009, and the extension of the industrial chain can create a 50 billion-level industrial cluster. Moreover, it can solve the employment of 350,000 people in the local area.
The entire Beiqi Yinxiang New City Industrial Park will have four functional areas - living and living areas, eco-agricultural parks, industrial production areas and supporting service areas. Based on Beiqi Yinxiang Automobile's complete vehicle production, automobile and motorcycle parts will be the leading ones, and will integrate living, business, and leisure into a comprehensive area with a population of around 80,000.
According to reports, Beiqi Yinxiang Automobile Project is an important layout of Beiqi in the southwest region and will be sold to all parts of Southeast Asia. Yinxiang has a relatively large market in Southeast Asia. Beiqi Yinxiang Automobile is not only sold throughout the country, but also will open up sales channels in Southeast Asia.
In recent years, Chongqing's motorcycle companies have made four rounds in two rounds. Starting from Lifan, Zongshen, Longxin, Luan, and Xinyuan have all made cars. Chun'an made Dongfeng Xiaokang ranked third in China's mini-vehicles, and Golden Cup and Starfish produced by Xinyuan and Huachen Automobile also sold hotly. Yinxiang became the sixth Chongqing Motors company to get involved in cars.
However, this does not mean abandoning the motorcycle industry. Yinxiang is also increasing its investment in motorcycle manufacturing. Making cars is only an increase. It is understood that at present, Chongqing's auto production companies have an annual output of 1.6 million vehicles, with an output value of 250 billion yuan.
