I just came across some exciting news on the Chicago Police Department's Facebook page! They recently revealed the brand-new design for their patrol vehicles, marking the first update to their look in quite a while. This fresh design is the brainchild of Officer Jennifer Jacobucci and was chosen by a team of fellow officers and community members. It retains the classic blue and white color scheme we all know and love, along with the tagline "We Serve & Protect."
But it's not just about the design—these new vehicles come packed with upgrades. For starters, they're equipped with mobile computers that allow officers to access real-time data on the go. There's also enhanced lighting designed to boost police presence. And get this—some of these vehicles, like the one showcased today, will have license plate reader technology. This tech can help officers track down stolen vehicles faster and more efficiently than ever before.
The new fleet is set to hit the streets later this year, but you can see them firsthand right now at the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place. The show runs from February 9th to the 18th.
