Continental builds new R&D center in Chongqing

Continental Group announced at the 7th Global Automotive Forum that it plans to build a new R&D center in Chongqing. This research and development center is dedicated to the development of automotive electronics applications, new energy vehicles and truck industry application products and solutions, system development, software development, electronic design, mechanical design and the corresponding system and product testing capabilities. The R&D center will have a total of 400 R&D personnel by 2020, and it is expected that the number of employees will increase to 1,000 by 2025 and it is expected to be put into use in early 2018.

At the 7th Global Automotive Forum, Dr. Kang Ruifan, member of the executive board of the German Continental Group and president and CEO of the Continental Group of China, pointed out that China’s economic growth has been very stable in recent years, but the ups and downs of the Chinese automobile market have changed greatly. This volatile growth model will continue in the future. In order to achieve long-term development in the Chinese market, parts and components companies must maintain agility in the market.

How to maintain agility in the market? Dr. Kang Ruifan said that first of all should be reflected in the product quality. No matter what happens in the market, the products and services provided by Continental Group must be first class. In addition, more efforts are devoted to innovation and research and development. Dr. Kang Ruifan pointed out that China is undergoing transformation and upgrading from "Made in China" to "Created in China." This development trend is consistent with the implementation of the strategy of opening up to open innovation by the Continental Group. The Mainland Group’s investment in the construction of the Chongqing R&D Center will not only further enhance the R&D capabilities of the Continental Group in China, but will also help the development of the automotive industry in Western China.

The speed of particles in the downward massflow when recirculated by gravity in a conical vessel increases as the vessel diameter decreases. The result of these simultaneous actions is a fast and intensive mixing with low consumption of power together with high standards of mixing accuracy.
