Pure electric encounters with savvy car companies, naturally, will not force themselves in the field of plug-in hybrids for no reason. Recently, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers released data showing that in the first quarter of this year, sales of new energy vehicles reached 26,500 units, a year-on-year increase of 284%. Among them, the sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles was 11,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 2.1 times. Otherwise, there will be no sales of BYD Qin in Shanghai. In March of this year, Qin sold 2,476 vehicles and sold a total of 6,319 vehicles in the first quarter of this year. Last year, Qin sold a total of 14,747 vehicles. Up to now, Qin has sold more than 20,000 vehicles.
It seems that in order to quickly occupy the new energy vehicle market, plug-in hybrid models are a good entry point. Qin's hot sales have also made more car companies clear the main direction of developing new energy vehicles, and have launched plug-in hybrid models.
At the same time, China's continuous improvement in fuel consumption requirements has also prompted many car companies to accelerate the pace of launching new energy vehicles. In January of this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the “Interpretation of the Fourth Stage Standard for Passenger Vehicle Fuel Consumption”, which mentioned that in 2020, the average fuel consumption of new passenger cars in the year should reach 5L per 100 kilometers.
