BYD France again invests 10 million euros to establish the second pure electric factory in Europe

On March 23rd, BYD announced that it will invest 10 million euros in the construction of the Alonne plant in Beauvais, France, France. He Yipeng, general manager of BYD Europe, and Xavier Bertrand, chairman of the Upper France Regional Council Mayor of the City of Beauvais, Caroline Cayeux, a member of the National Senate, and other government representatives attended the press conference. This is the second electric bus plant that BYD has established in Europe. It is also the fourth overseas bus plant built by BYD after the United States, Brazil and Hungary.

The project will generate about 100 jobs in the initial stage. The total land area of the factory will reach approximately 80,000 tons. It is planned to start production in 2018. The predominantly electric buses will be produced in the early stage, and more models will be added in the later stages. It is estimated that the annual output of a single shift will be about 200 buses. In addition, the factory also plans to establish supporting maintenance service centers and spare parts logistics centers.

“France is the largest bus market in Europe. Diesel bus buses are the main culprit for air pollution, but they are also the most easily motorized type of car. We hope to provide cleaner air to major cities. The conditions are superior, and the local government is also very active in encouraging the development of electric vehicles. This is why we are located here.” said He Yipeng, general manager of BYD Europe.

Mr. Xavier Ballanter, Chairman of the Upper Franco-Brazilian Commission, also attended the press conference and said: “The decision by BYD to establish an electric vehicle factory in the upper French region is very significant news for us. Employment is the most important part of our region. The mission also showed that when we invest resources, we can attract large-scale international companies to settle in. At the same time, the BYD plant's production of electric vehicles is fully consistent with our third industrial revolution strategy, which is conducive to promoting France as an energy source. The forerunner of transformation."

The Mayor of Beauvais and the National Senate Member Ms. Carolyn Caillaux said: “BYD’s choice confirms the commercial appeal of the Beauvais region and emphasizes our ability to carry cutting-edge industries. BYD has found the necessary buildings here. With skilled human resources, we fully meet the requirements of the company. We officially released a win-win partnership today. I am very happy for the region and the people living here.”

BYD's globalization is not only a world-wide green dream, but also a strong confirmation of the Chinese brand standing in the world. BYD's industry-leading cutting-edge technology is highly favored by high-end markets such as France. In order to better meet market demand, BYD has invested in overseas to build a factory. BYD is using the ever-expanding overseas map to prove the strength of this growing brand.
