Marble processing method and common equipment

The main processes of marble processing are: sawing, grinding, cutting, chiseling, auxiliary processing and inspection.
(1) Saw-cutting processing It is a semi-finished product in which a marble block is sawn into a desired thickness of a wool board (generally 20 mm or 10 mm) or a strip shape or a block shape by a saw machine. This process is a roughing process. Commonly used equipment for sawing and processing are marble-type frame- shaped diamond saws, single-saw blades, and large-diameter circular saws. Traditional pendulum sand saws have been gradually eliminated due to their low efficiency and poor sawing quality.
(2) The purpose of the grinding and polishing process is to further process the sawed wool board to meet the requirements of thickness, flatness and gloss. The process needs to be completed in several steps, firstly rough grinding and half-fine Grinding, fine grinding, fine grinding and polishing are the most complicated operations in marble processing. The decorative plates can only be fully displayed by grinding and polishing, and the inherent color, pattern and gloss can be fully displayed to achieve the best decorative effect. Common equipment for grinding and polishing includes ten marble automatic continuous grinding and polishing machines, bridge grinding machines, hand-held grinding machines, small disc grinding machines, large disc grinding machines, and reversing coarse grinding machines. The mill used Abrasives with increasing precision polished gradually reduced particle size composition, commonly used abrasives are alumina, silicon carbide, artificial diamond and cubic boron nitride.
(3) Cutting process The cutting board is used to cut and process the wool board or the polishing board according to the length and width requirements of the order, and the required specification board is obtained. Commonly used cutting and cutting equipment include longitudinal multi-saw cutting machine, double saw cutting machine, transverse cutting machine, bridge cutting machine, cantilever cutting machine, hand cutting machine and so on.
(4) Auxiliary processing In addition to the above main processes, marble processing often requires edge grinding, chamfering, opening holes, drilling, and milling lace according to the specific needs of the decoration. Commonly used equipment includes automatic edging chamfering machine, stone special copy milling machine, thin wall drilling machine, hand-held diamond circular saw, hand-held polishing polishing machine, etc.
(5) Inspection and repair process Natural marble sheets are inevitably cracked and perforated, and defects such as cracks, scratches, and edges are often generated during processing. Through cleaning inspection, genuine products can be put into storage. If the defects are not serious, they can be bonded and repaired to reduce the scrap rate. This process is usually manual operation. Some imported production lines use automatic continuous repairing machines. The repairing requirements are basically the same as the original material color. Commonly used automatic continuous repair machine, purge air dryer or manual inspection, manual repair.
(6) Chiseling and cutting processing is an ancient stone processing method. This method is simple, flexible and convenient, and is suitable for products with complicated shapes or low surface precision requirements. Such as stone carving products, complex building elements, as well as rough facing decorative stone such as rock face, convex surface, textured surface, hammer surface. Common hand tools such as hammers, axe, scorpions, chisels, etc. Some machining can be used with pneumatic rock drills , rock crushers, planers, sand blasting machines, etc.
