Jiangxi salt fluoride workers attract investment hot

In recent years, the salt and fluoride industry in Jiangxi Province has seen remarkable progress, with even More significant developments this year. On March 6, a major investment project—the Quzhou Fluorine Chemical Base cooperation project—was officially signed in Beijing. This project, the largest in terms of investment in Jiangxi, is jointly developed by the Ganzhou Municipal Government and China National Bluestar (Group) Corporation. The plan involves investing between 3 to 6 billion yuan over the next 3–5 years, aiming to generate sales revenue of 4 to 10 billion yuan. Construction at the Ruijin Fluorine Chemical Base is already underway. In June, Shanghai Yilong Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to build Jiangxi Junonda Salt Chemicals Co., Ltd. with an investment of 1.2 billion yuan, establishing a production line for 150,000 tons of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, polysilicon, and 1 million tons of vacuum salt in Yushu City. On July 22, Zhongyan Xingan Salt Chemical Co., Ltd. invested 300 million yuan to construct a new 600,000-ton salt production line, along with a 75,000-ton special railway and a 200,000-ton distribution center in Xinqian County. In August, the 600,000-ton vacuum salt project by Jiangxi Jiuzhai Salt Company, which invested 180 million yuan, entered the equipment installation phase, laying a solid foundation for further expansion in the halogenated alkali, hydrochloric acid, and caustic soda industries in Huichang County. On August 22, Jiangxi Yanye Group signed a contract to establish Jiangxi Hongyuan Salt Chemical Co., Ltd., investing 700 million yuan to build a facility producing 300,000 tons of soda ash, 300,000 tons of ammonium chloride, and 10,000 tons of bleaching powder at the Banyan Salt Chemical Industrial Base. The joint base project will start this year and be completed by September 2009. Additionally, Jiangxi Lanhengda Chemical Co., Ltd. received 780 million yuan in investment for a 100,000-ton ion-exchange membrane caustic soda and 100,000-ton polyvinyl chloride project, while Jiangxi Jiangxi Fidelity Salt Co., Ltd. invested 260 million yuan for a 500,000-ton vacuum salt expansion project, both set to begin operations soon. Jiangxi’s rock salt and fluorite resources are among the most abundant in the country. With 11.55 billion tons of rock salt reserves, it ranks fourth nationally. Bozhou City alone holds 9.5 million tons of proven fluorite reserves, with 6.25 million tons in hold reserves. The calcium fluoride content exceeds 50%, with some grades reaching over 90%. Ganzhou also boasts rich rock salt and pyrite resources. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, Jiangxi aims to leverage its salt and fluorite advantages to develop high-tech, high-value-added products. The province is focusing on expanding the chlor-alkali, organic chemicals, fine chemicals, and inorganic chemicals sectors, forming three key industrial chains: chlor-alkali products, fluoropolymer and refrigerant chains, and soda ash-based product chains. The fluorine chemical industry is capitalizing on the region's rich fluorite, pyrite, and salt resources, moving towards advanced materials and deep processing. Key areas include basic chemicals, intermediates, fluorocarbons, fluoropolymers, and specialty chemicals. During the same period, Jiangxi will focus on developing the Banyan Salt Chemical Base, Xinqian County Salt Chemical City, and Wuzhou Fluorine Chemical Base. Local governments have established dedicated agencies to promote these projects, offering tax and land incentives, and organizing delegations to Singapore, Malaysia, and other regions to attract investment. Yushu Salt Chemical Base, located in Xinji Mountain, has 10.37 billion tons of rock salt reserves, with a first-phase investment of 15 billion yuan. Xinqian County’s Salt Chemical City covers 2,500 hectares of sloping land and 5,500 acres of industrial land, with 2.37 billion tons of rock salt reserves and over 3 million tons of fluorite. The first-phase investment is expected to reach 16 billion yuan. With the official launch of the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan for New Industrialization,” several cities in Ganzhou, including Ruijin, Xingguo, Huichang, and Ningdu, are now part of the fluorine chemical base development plan. The main base in Ganzhou is located in Qingshui Village, Shazhouba Town, Ruijin City, with a planned area of 2.45 square kilometers. The Quzhou (Xingguo) Fluorine Chemical Base is situated within the Xingguo Industrial Park, featuring well-developed infrastructure.
