Jiangxi salt fluoride workers attract investment hot

In recent years, the salt and fluoride industry in Jiangxi Province has shown significant progress, with a surge of investment and development activities this year. One of the most notable projects is the Quzhou Fluorine Chemical Base cooperation project, which was signed in Beijing on March 6. This is the largest investment project in Jiangxi, involving the Ganzhou Municipal People's Government and China National Bluestar (Group) Corporation. The project aims to invest between 3 to 6 billion yuan over 3–5 years, targeting sales revenue of 4 to 10 billion yuan. The base in Ruijin is now under active construction. In June, Shanghai Yilong Co., Ltd. signed an agreement to build Jiangxi Junonda Salt Chemicals Co., Ltd. with an investment of 1.2 billion yuan. The project will produce 150,000 tons of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, polysilicon, and 1 million tons of vacuum salt annually in Yushu City. On July 22, Zhongyan Xingan Salt Chemical Co., Ltd. invested 300 million yuan to construct a new 600,000-ton salt production line, a 75,000-ton special railway, and a 200,000-ton distribution center in Xinqian County. By August, Jiangxi Jiuzhai Salt Company’s 600,000-ton vacuum salt project, backed by 180 million yuan, entered the equipment installation phase, supporting the expansion of halogenated alkali, hydrochloric acid, and caustic soda industries in Huichang County. On August 22, Jiangxi Yanye Group signed a contract to establish Jiangxi Hongyuan Salt Chemical Co., Ltd. with an investment of 700 million yuan for projects including 300,000 tons of soda ash, 300,000 tons of ammonium chloride, and 10,000 tons of bleaching powder at the Banyan Salt Chemical Industrial Base. The joint base project is expected to be completed and operational by September 2009. Other key projects include a 100,000-ton ion-exchange membrane caustic soda and 100,000-ton polyvinyl chloride project by Jiangxi Lanhengda Chemical Co., Ltd. with an investment of 780 million yuan, and a 500,000-ton vacuum salt expansion project by Jiangxi Fidelity Salt Co., Ltd. with 260 million yuan, both set to begin operations soon. Jiangxi is rich in rock salt and fluorite resources. The province has 11.55 billion tons of rock salt reserves, ranking fourth nationally. Bozhou City alone holds 9.5 million tons of proven fluorite reserves, with 6.25 million tons in reserves, featuring high calcium fluoride content (over 50%, sometimes exceeding 90%). Ganzhou also boasts good rock salt and pyrite resources. During the “Eleventh Five-Year Plan” period, Jiangxi plans to leverage its salt and fluorite resources to develop high-tech, high-value-added products. The goal is to transform the province into a national salt chemical production hub, focusing on chlor-alkali, organic chemicals, fine chemicals, and inorganic chemicals. Key industrial chains include chlor-alkali products, fluoropolymer and refrigerant chains, and soda ash-based product lines. The fluorine chemical industry is capitalizing on abundant fluorite and salt resources, expanding into advanced materials and deep-processing products like fluorocarbons, fluoropolymers, and specialty chemicals. Jiangxi is also developing three major bases: the Banyan Salt Chemical Industry Base, Xinqian County Salt Chemical Industry City, and the Wuzhou Fluorine Chemical Industry Base. Local governments have established dedicated agencies, offered tax and land incentives, and organized delegations to Singapore, Malaysia, and other regions to attract investment. Yushu Salt Chemical Industry Base, located in Xinji Mountain, has 10.37 billion tons of rock salt reserves and a first-phase investment of 15 billion yuan. Xinqian County’s Salt Chemical Industry City spans 2,500 hectares and 5,500 acres, with 2.37 billion tons of rock salt and over 3 million tons of fluorite. The first-phase investment there is expected to reach 16 billion yuan. As part of the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan," Ruijin, Xingguo, Huichang, and Ningdu were included in the fluorine chemical base development plan. The main fluorine chemical base in Ganzhou is located in Qingshui Village, Ruijin, covering 2.45 square kilometers, with well-developed infrastructure in the Xingguo Industrial Park.
