Sensorless single chip driver for stepper motors

Recently, AMI Semiconductor (AMIS) has introduced two new single-chip stepper motor driver ICs—AMIS-30521 and AMIS-30522—that significantly cut down on the number of components and the overall bill of materials (BOM) in dynamic motion systems. These ICs are designed to simplify design processes and reduce costs across a wide range of applications, including automotive headlamp positioning, surveillance cameras, automated "pick and place" systems, vending machines, textile machinery, and stage lighting. Engineers can now eliminate the need for external switches, Hall sensors, flyback diodes, and many passive components, making these ICs ideal for space-constrained and cost-sensitive designs. The devices feature an SPI interface that allows full control over the NXT "next" input pulse conversion, generating precise PWM signals for motor coils. They act as co-chips alongside a main microcontroller or DSP, with the AMIS-30522 also offering a 50mA regulator and a watchdog timer for external microcontrollers. Both ICs support full-step to 1/32 microstepping, including compensated and uncompensated half-stepping. Built-in current sensing removes the need for external current sense resistors, further minimizing component count. Each IC includes two H-bridges capable of driving two-phase stepper motors with up to 1600mA per phase. The speed and load angle outputs allow the main microcontroller to detect rotor stall and end-of-motion conditions without additional sensors, improving system reliability. These features also enable the microcontroller to dynamically adjust current or speed based on rotor position, reducing noise, vibration, and out-of-step issues. This results in more accurate and stable motion control. In terms of packaging, the devices are available in a compact NQFP package with an exposed pad, measuring less than 1mm in height and occupying only a 7mm x 7mm footprint. Their small size not only saves board space but also allows direct mounting on stepper motors, further simplifying the design. The improved SOIC package with an exposed underpad enhances thermal performance, ensuring efficient heat dissipation from the IC to the PCB. AMI Semiconductor specializes in digital and mixed-signal ASICs, serving a broad range of industries. With around 2,000 employees globally, the company offers products such as excitation sensor interfaces, telecom timing generators, wireless baseband solutions, and standard ASICs. The new AMIS-30521 and AMIS-30522 represent a major step forward in simplifying motion control while maintaining high performance and reliability.

Semi Automatic Espresso Machine

Our new semi automatic espresso machine can be equipped with either an imported Italian water pump or a domestic water pump, providing a stable 20 Bar high pressure extraction capacity. This pressure value is the gold standard for making espresso, which is able to penetrate deeply into the coffee powder layer, fully releasing the oils and flavor substances in the coffee beans, ensuring that each cup of coffee has a 3-4 mm thick layer of nutty-colored golden oils, with a rich aroma and mellow taste.
Precise temperature control technology
This manual espresso machine is equipped with a powerful 1300 W motor and a PID intelligent temperature control system, which maintains the water temperature at a stable 92℃±1℃. This temperature is the best parameter for extracting espresso, which can fully extract the coffee flavor and prevent the bitter taste caused by high temperature, and ensure that each cup of coffee is rich in oil and smooth in taste.
Professional Milk Frothing System
Meanwhile, our 20 bar espresso machine adopts a 360° rotatable stainless steel steam wand, combined with an adjustable steam knob, which can easily produce a dense and delicate milk foam. Whether you are making the silky milk froth of a cappuccino or the artistic pull of a latte, it is easy to do.
