Wheaton Fire Department ceremony

Subject: A Heartwarming Day at the Wheaton Fire Department Hi everyone, I just got back from an inspiring event at the Wheaton Fire Department held last Thursday, May 28, 2015. It was a special day filled with pride and celebration as they welcomed new members into their ranks and honored others who were moving up in their careers. First off, two outstanding individuals were sworn in as new firefighters: Nick Mellinger and Matt Ackerman. These guys are now officially part of the team that dedicates themselves every single day to keeping our community safe. Then came the promotions—some truly deserving folks moved into leadership roles. Chris Hunecke, Mike Byas, and Mike Franzone were all promoted to Lieutenant. This is such a well-deserved step forward for them, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. And let’s not forget the big leaps made by Jeff MacKay and Pete Vassios, who were promoted to Assistant Chief. Their contributions have been invaluable, and this promotion reflects the trust and confidence placed in them to guide the department toward even greater heights. It was a beautiful ceremony, and I managed to snap some photos along the way. There were moments of joy, laughter, and heartfelt congratulations as these brave men celebrated their achievements. One of the highlights for me was seeing the newly promoted firefighters surrounded by their families. The sense of unity and support was palpable, and it reminded me how much strength comes from being part of something bigger than yourself. Attached are some pictures I took throughout the day. You’ll see Nick and Matt during their swearing-in ceremony, the new Lieutenants looking proud, and the Assistant Chiefs beaming with accomplishment. Congratulations again to everyone! It’s moments like these that remind us what true dedication looks like. Best regards, John Tulipano P.S.
