Description of Wet Type Mineral Processing Magnetic Drum SeparatorThe wet magnetic separator produced by our factory is designed for strong magnetic minerals with particle sizes less than 3mm, such as magnetite, calcined ore, and ilmenite. It is also widely used in the iron removal process in coal, non-ferrous metals, and building materials industries. Our factory offers different magnetic force grades of separators in downstream, semi-counter current, and counter current configurations. The machine features a simple structure, large capacity, easy operation, and convenient maintenance.
Working Principle of Wet Type Mineral Processing Magnetic Drum Separator
When raw materials enter the tank body of the magnetic separator, their flow direction aligns with the rotation of the magnetic drum. Iron-bearing minerals are attracted to the surface of the drum, marking the first stage of separation. In the second step, water from below flushes the materials back, reversing the flow direction relative to the drum’s rotation. As the drum rotates, the iron-bearing minerals on its surface eventually exit the magnetic field and fall into the concentrate box due to gravity. Water from above assists in directing these minerals into the concentrate box. Weakly magnetic or non-magnetic materials are not attracted and flow out as tailings through the discharge pipe.
