On December 2nd, during the "2nd Annual Meeting of China's Auto Parts and Entrepreneurs" held in Tianjin, the list of "2005 China's Auto Parts Enterprises' Comprehensive Competitiveness Top 100" was officially announced. Chen Dajun, deputy secretary-general of the China Machinery Industry Enterprise Management Association and vice president of the Mechanical Industry Economic Management Research Institute, presented the evaluation criteria and key findings of this year’s selection on behalf of the organizers — the China Automobile Engineering Society and the China Machinery Industry Enterprise Management Association. According to Chen, comprehensive competitiveness is defined as a set of long-term competitive advantages that a company accumulates, which enable it to not only survive but also thrive in the market. He emphasized the importance of understanding these competitive dynamics from a holistic and forward-looking perspective, enabling companies to take control of their future development and improve modern management practices.
The top 100 companies were selected based on annual sales exceeding RMB 100 million and being registered in China with various ownership structures. The evaluation covered the past two years, ensuring a consistent measure of performance and competitiveness.
As a neutral third-party evaluation system, it incorporates insights from global models such as those used by the World Economic Forum, Standard & Poor’s, and the Ministry of Finance, alongside data from the Statistical Institute of Renmin University. The assessment focuses on four main areas: company size, business results, financial health, and growth potential, combined with expert opinions for more accurate outcomes.
This year, special attention was given to companies’ capabilities in capital operations, patents, and independent innovation. New categories were introduced, including the Top Ten Patent-Advantaged Companies and the Top Ten Listed Companies in the auto parts industry.
