On the morning of the 12th, Shanxi Province took a major step forward in its coal chemical industry with the official foundation-laying ceremony of the largest coal chemical equipment manufacturing base at Taizhong Heavy Industry Group. This milestone marks a key part of the company's commitment to implementing the scientific development concept and aligning with the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" outline of Shanxi Province. It also supports the ambitious goal of achieving a "Ten Billion Target," which aims to significantly boost the province’s industrial capabilities.
The new base, with a total investment of 300 million yuan, spans 25,800 square meters. Once completed, it will be capable of producing advanced pressure-gasification equipment from well-known international brands such as Shell, Texaco, GSP, and Lurgi, thereby reducing reliance on imported technology. In addition, the facility will manufacture a wide range of fertilizer equipment, including synthetic ammonia, urea, and compound fertilizer systems. It will also produce equipment for methanol, dimethyl ether, synthetic oil, coke oven gas, coal bed gas conversion, coal tar deep processing, nuclear energy, and hydrogenation reactors.
With an annual output value expected to exceed 1 billion yuan, this base is set to become the leading manufacturer of coal chemical equipment in Shanxi, boosting the region’s industrial competitiveness and contributing to national energy security. The project not only represents a significant technological advancement but also underscores the growing role of Shanxi as a key player in China’s energy and chemical sectors.
