Motor winding quick drying method

When maintaining a motor's coil, drying in a dedicated drying chamber is typically recommended. However, in the absence of such equipment, technicians often resort to alternative methods, such as using a high-power light bulb or placing the coil near a coal-fired stove for heat. Through years of hands-on experience, I have developed a self-drying technique that uses a 220V power supply. This method is safe and effective when performed correctly. Here’s how it works: Most motors have three terminals after winding—commonly referred to as the neutral (middle), run, and start lines. For this process, we only need the "Run" and "Start" terminals. Connect these to a standard plug, place the coil on an insulating surface, and lay a sheet of paper underneath for added insulation. Then, insert the plug into a 220V outlet. After about a minute, remove the plug and repeat the process several times. Monitor the temperature of the coil; once it reaches around 100°C, you can apply insulating paint. After painting, use the same heating method again. While doing so, rotate the stator three times to ensure even coverage. Once the paint has dried to about 60-70%, clean the motor and proceed with installation. Even if the coil isn't fully dried, the heat generated during operation will help complete the drying process. This technique is especially suitable for motors used in dry environments, where moisture is not a major concern. It offers a practical and cost-effective solution when traditional drying equipment is unavailable.

Quartz Sand

Quartz sand is a quartz particle formed by crushing and processing quartz stone. Quartz is a non-metallic mineral, which is a hard, wear-resistant, and chemically stable silicate mineral. The color of quartz sand is milky white or colorless and semi transparent, with a Mohs hardness of 7.
Quartz sand is an important industrial mineral raw material, not a chemical hazardous material, widely used in industries such as glass, casting, ceramics and fireproof materials, smelting of ferrosilicon, metallurgical flux, metallurgy, construction, chemical industry, plastics, rubber, abrasives, filter materials, etc.
